Photohunt: Row
For this weeks challenge, I decided to air my laundry. Literally. Hey! At least is is clean laundry. Two months ago, we bought laundry racks to line dry all of our clothes. We purchased 4 and they each hold about a load of laundry. See my row of laundry...
Yes it is in the house (our un-lanscaped back yard is too dusty). If you casually came over just about any day of the week, you'll see our clean laundry. Yes, I make sure that they are put away when we know we are going to have guests.
The best part is, each month, our energy bill has dropped to pay for 1 rack. In two more months, the racks will be paid off. We are not only reducing our carbon footprint but we are also saving signficant $$ in our energy costs.
Go buy some yourself - and stop trying to look for my underwear in that pic.
Now if only I could find an energy reducing measure that will fold and put away the clothes.

Nice shot for the theme. Happy Weekend! http://crizlai.blogspot.com/2007/08/photo-hunters-row.html

OH GOSH, don't remind me that I SHOULD BE doing my laundry instead of playing online!

Wonderful idea and great for our theme too! Do you have to iron anything? (I love to iron.)
Come see mine.

Nothing wrong with air drying. Love when they hang outside too. And saves a big chunk on the electric bill. But,... are we airing our laundry? Just kidding. Have a happy weekend.

Great idea! I don't use drying racks, but I usually either hang my laundry on the line outside or on hangers in the garage if the clothes are nice and I don't want them to get sun bleached. After they are dry, I usually run them through the dryer for a few minutes to remove any lint and fluff them up a little. Just today, someone was at my house and told me that my laundry always smells so nice and fresh. =)

Well this is an organize way of airing the laundry. I'm doing that now since the dryer conked out on me. But I use the usual clothesline. This one is pretty neat.

Nice choice for the theme this week! We don't have a dryer here in Germany - we are renting and there is no place to hook one up and we aren't allowed to cut holes in the concrete walls for the vent - so all our laundry is line-dryed. We have several drying racks. :)

Way to go, Birdie, love how you're reducing your carbon footprint. Where did you get your racks? Mine (Target) are horrible, they keep falling apart!

nice work! and great way to "go green" with your laundry! :-)

Putting me to shame! But that is good. I used to use indoor racks and my outside line. The outside line has fallen down and Jon was supposed to fix it LAST summer!
So OK, I am conscious of my carbon footprint now and I am going to begin again, so thank you!

Wow, color me impressed. It's all I can do to remember to get stuff into the dryer, can't imagine trying. Of course the dogs sniffing and drooling all over it would probably negate fresh scent. But I have totally reduced my commute :), as well as the asking price of the house :(

Wow- I am impressed!! I use drying racks for the things I don't want to shrink, but I can't imagine line drying everything. Good for you!

Thank goodness you didn't bring those things to our room at the W during BlogHer.
I'm very immpressed!!
