So in addition to feeling totally overwhelmed by the whole performance review thing, our company is also in the annual open enrollment for benefits. The rising cost of healthcare means that our lovely little multi-billion dollar company will be passing the buck onto us little people.
If I happen to get a pay-raise the year, that little extra money will be robbed into the doubling of the co-pay, the increase in out-of-p0cket costs, the multi-thousand dollar deductible. Pray that I don't get hit by a bus because the 15% of hospitalization costs could make us lose the house.
I can't imagine what it feels like to not have medical insurance at all. To be afraid that any small illness is going to not only rock your livelihood, it could very well bankrupt you. I have insurance. I know I'm one of the "lucky" ones. But I'm not feeling it today.
