Raise your hand if you bought a Wii this past Christmas. I was a little jealous that Nintendo dropped their price of the Wii a year after we bought ours. Well, truth be told my dad bought ours as a family Christmas gift in '08. We are definitely a Wii family. While I made the mistake of buying one traditional video-game (damn you Lego Star Wars for invading my son's mind like a flesh-eating parasite), I am only interested in Wii games that 1) we can do as a family and 2) get us up off the couch to play.
That's why I jumped at the chance to review a new game, Squeeballs Party. Squeeballs are 12 toys that are manufactured on a secret island. Before they can be sold to children around the world, the Squeeballs must be fully put to the test...to the point of destruction! You blow up, cook, slice, bat, bowl, shoot and bounce the Squeeballs. It's maniacal product testing.
While the game is rated E10+, my "almost six year old" loved the game. Maybe it's a boy thing and the passion to blow stuff up. But we played for a long time. He did have trouble getting the hang of some of the games, but we have a strict "this is for fun, not for winning" gaming policy in our house. I think the kid just wants to be in the #1 slot during a tournament and that hasn't happened yet.
But you don't have to take my word for it. Performance Design Products sent me an additional copy to giveaway to one lucky reader.
