Thanks to the FTC and their ridiculous rules that leave lil' bloggers like me at risk for scary things like law suits and fines, I'm writing a full page on disclosures here at Who's the Boss?. Boring? Yes. Pointless? Perhaps. Covering my ass? Abso-frickin'-lutely!
This policy is valid from January 1, 2011 and may be changed at any time, without notice. This policy is not retroactive and posts made before this date do not necessarily adhere to this disclosure.
Who's the Boss? is a personal blog written and edited by Robyn Roark. For questions about this blog, please contact whosthebossblog@gmail.com
Compensation
This blog accepts many forms of compensation, including (but not limited to) paid posts, sponsorships, products, and trips. Transportation to and from an event, or food consumed at an event, is not considered compensation. Compensation refers to cash, gift certificates, products, or services. This blog does not accept advertising.
The compensation Robyn receives may influence the topics, content, or links but will never influence Robyn’s opinions on any subject or product.
If Robyn receives compensation, she will disclose such (i.e. free product, paid post, etc.) within the post itself.
If no disclosure is listed, it is to be assumed that there was no compensation involved with the post or any products, services or locations mentioned in the post.
NOTE: If Robyn is given free products at a conference, event, or meeting (aka SWAG) that are being given to all attendees, she does not consider these items as compensation and is not obligated to disclose them when talking about a product.
Content
The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely Robyn’s own. Any product claim, statistic, quote, specs, price, or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.
As Robyn does not have control of which products, services or locations appear in advertisements hosted by third parties, she does not allow for third party advertising on her blog. This way, you don't have to determine what it my opinion and what is influenced/controlled by advertising dollars. It's simple: It's all my opinion.
Robyn is not responsible for anything that happens to anyone as a result of following her advice or reviews, or purchasing a product or service as a result of visiting Who's the Boss?
Comments
Robyn reserves the right to remove any comment that she sees fit, for any reason. Comments are likely to be removed if it is abusive or appears to have been left for the sole purpose of promoting another website, blog or business. If it has even the faintest whiff of spam, it will be removed.
Twitter, Facebook, and Other Social Media Sites
Robyn often uses social media to promote products or services she has been compensated for, or companies she has an ongoing relationship with.
If Robyn is paid specifically to tweet or facebook about a product or service, she will append her status with #ad or #spon.
When in doubt, it’s safest to assume that Robyn received some kind of compensation or has a relationship with a company or product that she tweets about. Robyn is likely to tweet about a company or product because of a long-term relationship with the company.
